Easter is a time to once again think of those whom are less fortunate, have fallen down on there luck or just could not catch a break for what ever the reason. I hear of many places that offer such help but have never experienced seeing what they can do first hand until two years ago.
There are special people in the world that are dedicated to help those in just such a need. In my local area it is called the “Transitional and Support Housing Services of York Region”. Many of those who staff such facilities are volunteers’ along with full time who want to help because of the goodness in their hearts. Without them no one would get a second chance.
Many of us have clothing articles for men, women and children of all ages. Today I made one of many trips to drop off clothing, boots and shoes. Greeted by those whom reside at the residence with a smile and pleasantry, made my day knowing I can help someone else.
I urge those who have articles of such items to please be generous and help put a smile on someone’s face. Rather than a garage sale to bring in a couple of dollars, why not donate it. There is no price tag except “priceless” and the smile on your own families face and opening their hearts.
If you do not live near by, I urge you to please send your donations and help those who will appreciate the support getting back on track. For donation information, please email Kate Collins at communikate@sympatico.ca , Director Funds Development.
For those who reside at any of the residence, keep your head up and smile. There is always a rainbow of hope and a new beginning. Good luck to all.
