Microwave, I never thought of that for removing the wax. GREAT idea.
I run my cucumbers thro the washing machine, before making pickles. and on occassion when I have a large amount of muddy potatoes to wash I do it the same way – Cold water NO SOAP, rinse out the machine first and before doing the next load of laundry.
