Replacing Sliders

When is it time to replace sliders you ask? Those who do a lot of road riding will no doubt have to replace sliders more often than those who ride snowy trails. Now is a perfect time to check and replace them.

As you can see in the picture above, the left arrow indicates excessive wear as compared to the arrow on the right. This slider is off my own machine and has three seasons on it with a combination of road riding and trail.

If you do ride roads try keep as much snow flying up in the suspension to keep the sliders lubricated. Most sliders can be easily removed through the eye of the track so long as the track is OEM.

I have found the eyes in aftermarket tracts are less accommodating for slider removal. An ounce of prevention goes along way.
