Recently a request was made for information regarding Hunter Gas Fireplaces. As Hunter is no longer in business it is tough to find information. One major issue regarding gas fireplaces is the placement of the logs.
If the logs are not placed precisely inside the fireplace, impingement of the flame may occur causing soot and carbon monoxide issues. These types’ circumstances will not only damage the unit, but a severe health risk if the fumes get into your living space. Click the link below to download the complete manual.
The manual covers the following model numbers:
1. Cozy Comfort FI-25
2. Cozy Comfort II F125
3. Designer Series HDS3000, HDS2000
4. HDV30 Direct Vent
5. HDV2500 Direct Vent
6. SF25E
7. SF25E

I have a Huner HDV2500 fireplace. The company I bought it from (Fireside Corner, 1114 Portage Ave, Wpg, MB.) does not appear to be in business any longer. The blower is making a lot of noise when turned on. Where do you suggest I have it fixed or get a part?
May 21st, 2009 at 7:19 pm
Most blowers make noise due to dirt.Carefully remove it from the fire place and wash it with light soap and warm water. The motor can also be washed as water will not hurt it. rinse carefully in the laundry tub with hot water to remove all the soap and either dry with compressed air or shop vac blowing out air or hair drier. Use a light sewing machine oil on the little bushings at either end and reinstall. I would suggest you run it immediately for about 10 to 15 minutes after you install it to make sure it is completely dry. I have had good success doing it this way as in most cases parts are not nessessary.

I do have a supplier listed on the site. If they don’t have it then I might suggest a sheet metal fabricator to have a custom one made. Anything is possible when you think outside the box. Good luck.

I have a hunter hdv2500-3 with a blower that simply is not turning on. There is power going to the unit. The fireplace operates as normal, just no blower. Where should I begin, and is it safe to operate without the blower?
January 27th, 2010 at 9:42 am
it is safe to operate without the blower. Blowers in all units are an add-on. In order to determine if the blower is the issue, check for power at the blower motor terminals at the blower motor. If power is found cross the 2 terminals and the motor spins freely then the motor is defective. If no power is found then start checking backwards. There is a rheostat that controls the fan speed and a thermostatic click switch located somewhere on the unit to control on/off based on temperature. You can jumper that switch to see if the motor starts. Please be careful as the motor circuit is 120 volts AC.
Safety first. Let me know how you make out.

I have a Hunter DV fireplace, unsure of model number. Where can I find the model number?Blower isn’t working. Appreciate your advice to Max, Jan. 27; it may help me fix mine, too. However, if the blower needs replacement, how do you remove it? I can’t seem to figure out how it all goes together and comes apart.
February 6th, 2010 at 5:37 pm
I might suggest to see if it moves freely first and if power is getting to it. Things to check if no power, burnt wiring, click switch which controls fan on/off, Rheostat (fan speed). If you ned to remove fan, unfortunately all the inside guts will have to come out to get proper access. Remove glass, logs, burner assembly and then base plate. Not always the same in all Fire Places but not far off that routine. Make sure gas is secured before anything as it is a preventable accident.
On reassembly, the logs must go in the exact way they came out or CO can be produduced. Let me know if you need any more help.
